Poster Design for Poster Spy In this concept, I wanted each color to not only be inspired by the director’s work but also to reflect the emotions of the character throughout his journey in life. Separated from one another, the colors represent the struggles he faces: yellow evokes the nostalgia of childhood and the energy of youth, while blue symbolizes the authority of his parents, who, in search of a better future, take him to Valencia at a young age. A flower represents his great love as an adult—completely detached from him. His downward gaze conveys the pain and heartbreak of that love, yet also the solace he finds in his greatest discovery, the one that would consume his life: cinema.
As a personal touch, I incorporated gray to symbolize the character’s search for purpose and the eternal void left by his inability to continue making films.
Synopsis
Salvador Mallo, a filmmaker in the twilight of his career, reflects on his personal and professional journey, recalling his childhood in the Valencian town of Paterna in the 1960s. His memories come alive—his first loves, his earliest desires, his first adult romance in 1980s Madrid, and his early passion for cinema.
